Our firm had the honor of constructing the Biathlon Competition Management Building for the2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, Utah. This project was located in a remote area in Heber, UT. Highlights include the colored, architectural concrete panels, structural steel sun screen louvers, and metal clad panels. The structural framing was complex in that it utilized a combination of steel framing and heavy timber. The electrical and mechanical systems were also very sophisticated and required top notch firms who performed almost flawlessly. The building is now used by the State of Utah Division of Parks and Recreation as a visitor/ festival activity center in the summer and a ski lodge in the winter.
