University of Utah HRE Remodel

Location: Salt Lake City, UT

Client: University of Utah

Duration: 1 Month

Contract Value: $130K

This transformative remodel at the University of Utah's Housing & Rental Education building was designed to enhance functionality and refresh the space for both staff and students.

The project began with demolition work, including the removal of an existing wall to create an open-concept layout that facilitates better interaction between workers and visiting students. We also removed the outdated carpeting throughout the area. Once the demolition was complete, we performed floor leveling to ensure a smooth foundation for the installation of new VCT tile wood flooring and updated carpeting.

To further refine the space, we constructed a new wall with a door and door frame to separate the newly opened area from an adjoining office. This design struck the perfect balance between creating a welcoming, open environment and maintaining necessary functionality.

Additionally, our electrical team replaced 90 outdated light fixtures with new energy-efficient LED fixtures to enhance brightness and reduce energy consumption. They also ran wiring and installed three new power poles in the middle of the room to provide power for the new work desks for employees. To complete the transformation, we painted the entire room with new white and black accent paint, giving it a bright and stylish feel.

This remodel transformed an outdated office into a vibrant and functional area where staff can work efficiently, and students feel welcome to seek assistance.
