Jordan River Parkway Improvements

Location: Salt Lake City, UT

Client: Salt Lake County Parks and Rec

Duration: 9 months

Contract Value: $650k

This project required the us to perform an excavation across 4100 south with minimum interruption to the traveling public. This was accomplished through the use of a precast tunnel thereby minimizing the road closure duration. One half of the tunnel was constructed allowing one lane of traffic to continue across the existing roadway and then the second half was installed. One lane of traffic was open at all times during the construction. Precast greatly reduced the time generally required with cast in place construction for forming and curing to required strengths. In addition to the tunnel a decorative pedestrian bridge was also installed. along with extensive landscaping.
