Yavapai Observation Station Restoration

Location: Grand Canyon, South Rim

Client: National Park Service

Duration: 9 months

Contract Value: $1.3 million

Situated on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, the Yavapai Observation Station first opened in 1928 and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. In 2008, we undertook a complete restoration of the structure. Work included stone tuck pointing, viga end replacements, restoration of historic concrete floor, mechanical and electrical work, structural upgrades and walkways.

The station offers sweeping views of the north rim and inner canyon, a museum, and attracts thousands of park visitors each year with one of the best views of Grand Canyon.
